First Responder Fitness

Dedicated to helping members of the Military, Police, Firefighting and Emergency Service professions continue to serve their communities and country.

 

My name is Scott Willocks. I spent over 35 years in the military. Almost half in Joint Commands working closely with all branches of service. As a National Guardsman, I did planning, exercises and performed real world response to wildfires, ice storms, tornados and hurricanes. This allowed me to work closely with Fire Fighters, Emergency Management personnel and Policemen at both the State and Local levels. These experiences allowed me to closely understand the physical requirements and challenges of these professions.

A theme throughout my career and still today, is my fascination with and passion for fitness. Over the last 25+ years of my career I had the opportunity create fitness programs for both individuals and organizations in the First Responder community.

I (and my workout crew) have done almost every fitness routine and style of training…..gotten hurt….. sometimes injured and had to come back over and over again to meet the physical requirements of the job.

As a way to stay connected with and give back to the First Responder community; I wanted to set up this page as a resource for no BS; Functional fitness Lessons Learned (that I and my teammates got the hard way)! This will hopefully provide a shortcut for those of you that continue to serve.
